A helium-filled foil balloon floats only when the lifting force from the displaced air is greater than the combined weight of the balloon, helium and attached accessories. Insufficient volume, excessive product weight, incomplete inflation, valve leakage or damaged seams can affect flotation.

Some foil balloons with suitable self-sealing valves can be deflated and reinflated. Carefully insert an appropriate straw into the valve opening and release the gas without damaging the valve or film. Reusability depends on the balloon construction, valve condition, seams and previous handling.

Many foil balloons use a metallized surface that can conduct electricity. If a balloon contacts overhead power lines or electrical equipment, it may cause a short circuit, power interruption or other hazard. Keep balloons away from power lines, use suitable balloon weights and dispose of them responsibly. Never release foil balloons outdoors.
