Heat transfer requires high temperature and pressure to bond transfer film onto the base material — sounds mature, but why don't we recommend it for aluminum foil balloons?
The core issue: aluminum foil balloon materials are extremely temperature-sensitive. Heat transfer's "high temperature high pressure" process (typically 150-180°C) during pressing causes aluminum film base material to easily generate tiny bubbles, pinhole air leakage, or pattern edge stretching deformation — these problems aren't visible at the time, but after balloon inflation, under pressure, micro bubbles and pinholes become air leakage points, seriously affecting air-tightness and service life.
Additionally, the pattern layer and base material in heat transfer have an extra transfer medium between them — bonding fastness is not as good as direct printing, and after prolonged folding or inflation, pattern edges easily peel off.
In summary, heat transfer is suitable for fabrics, ceramics and other heat-resistant base materials — but for aluminum foil balloons requiring high air-tightness, especially helium foil balloons — please be sure to choose direct printing processes (gravure or screen).
